Minister of state for details and broadcasting, C M Jatua’s auto met with an accident when he was on his way back to Kolkata from Kakdwip on Sunday. He had gone to Kakdwip to attend Mamata Banerjee’s rally. Jatua escaped unhurt, while two of his aides sustained minor injuries.
As Jatua was in a hurry to catch a flight, his motorcade was going at a high speed. When it neared Amtala Extra, the driver applied the brakes abruptly, bringing the vehicle to a sudden halt. A goods vehicle right behind was driving at a break-neck speed. Although the driver of the truck applied the brakes, the automobile rammed into Jatua’s motorcade.
